Nyumbani - A Documentary

We made this documentary for the Nyumbani project in Kenya. It won Best Documentary at the Irish Student Media Awards in 2006.

Back in our Student days when our hearts were big and our pockets empty, we decided to do this documentary about an orphanage in Kenya. Peter (Linnemann) had gone out to Kenya and he shot all the interviews and footage.

The footage is harsh, the stories are very difficult to take on board. This is not the kind of documentary everybody would want to watch, so we came up with a plan to ease people into the story.

By Interlocking the documentary with story of similar constuct we hoped to create something with more gavitas. We hope you enjoy it.
